"How Often Should I Be Doing CrossFit"

This is probably one of the most popular questions I get. As with most advice I give, there's no one single answer for everyone.

In general, most people should be getting 5 days a week of 30+ minutes of rigourous exercise (anything above a walking pace), and 7 days a week of moderate activity (10K steps).

CrossFit perscribes a 3 days on / 1 day off workout plan. While this may be ideal for some, in the real world, where people have schedules, this isn't always a viable option. Over the years, the athletes that I've seen have the most success are the ones that are the most consistent. They set a schedule, and stick to it.

Whether you follow CrossFit's recommendation, or your own schedule, always make sure that you build in time for recovery. Athletes do not get fitter during workouts, they get fitter through recovery.
